Grandma Visits!

Grandma came to visit this past weekend. This was David's mom's first time meeting Otto and her second time visiting us here since having Oscar. The last time she was here, Oscar was younger than Otto is now. So, it was great for her to see Oscar in action--on his home turf. Look at my Oscar (above)--what a ham!

Grandma brought lots of gifts with her. One of Oscar's favorites was this ABC dog.

Here he is (below) playing with his new dog for the first time. Oscar is sporting his embarrassed look--trying not to smile. Grandma had only been here for less than an hour when we shot this video, so Oscar was a little overwhelmed with all the excitement.

While Grandma was here, we went to the mall to buy Oscar some new shoes. Grandma ended up treating Oscar to two new pairs of shoes. She also treated all of us to a yummy dinner at Nordstroms. The highlight of the mall trip for Oscar was a ride on the horse merry-go-round, and a free balloon from Nordstroms.

Otto is "facing out" in the Baby Bjorn now. Look at that smile!

Since going dairy-free, my neighbors have been sharing recipes with us and making dairy free meals and snacks for us. One of our favorites--molasses cookies from our neighbor, Sharon--has been a regular dessert in our house. Oscar loves them, so do I. They're VERY addictive. We let Oscar have a cookie a day and then when he's finished, he says "bye bye" to the cookies until the next day. Here he is saying "bye bye, cookies."

Here's a video of Oscar watching himself on the blog. He loves watching himself on the computer. He cracks himself up.

Oscar still likes to visit Otto in the playpen. He's gotta keep tabs on his baby bro.

Otto has discovered his hands and his starting to grab things. Here he is trying to figure out how
to get his frog pacifier back in his mouth.

Oscar likes to point out insects--especially flies. He even knows the sound a fly makes.

Here's Oscar playing with his buddy, Noah. Oscar's overalls came unsnapped at the bottom. I know it looks like he's wearing a kilt.

Here's a random moment of hyperness. Don't know what prompted Oscar to start throwing his socks. Can I blame it on Elmo? Probably not.

Oscar's handmade blanket from his grandma (my mom) is more like a toy to him than a blanket.
Oh, how Otto hates his tummy time.

Here's Oscar visiting Otto again. I can't wait until they're old enough to really play together!

And here's my most favorite video of today's post.
Oscar dancing/singing to "If you're happy and you know it..."

Let me guess--Mama gets another cookie after Oscar says bye-bye to them? :)
