Toes, Tots & Tongue Kisses

One of my friends from work, Chandra, organized and hosted a "toes and tots" get together at her house last weekend.

She arranged (and treated) for a manicurist to come and give us pedicures, while our kids played. Oscar made a new friend, Sterling, and my toes are now a funky shade of metallic blue.
A good time was had by all. Thanks, Chandra!




Sasha's tail continues to captivate Oscar. It's almost like she's doing this on purpose.


Oscar is making strides with his sippy cup. I'm trying to get him off bottles
and on to cups within 2 months-to make his transition to the 1-year old classroom
a smooth one.


This is currently my most favorite Oscar and Daddy photo. You need

Let's hope David makes me another baby soon. The cuteness must continue.

Oscar is doing really well with his "supported standing."


Lauren (our parent educator) came by this week. She was running a little late, so by
the time she arrived, Oscar was more tired than usual. In the video below, Lauren
is teaching Oscar "Baby Sign."

When not drinking from the sippy cup, it sure makes a fun toy.
Lauren says babies at Oscar's age love repetitive activities, e.g. dropping
a toy (or sippy cup) on the floor and having mommy retrieve it.
Yeah, Oscar definitely digs that game.

In case you're wondering why the water is leaking out of Oscar's "spill proof" cup,
I took the safety valve out so he wouldn't have to suck as hard to get the water out.
"Plus, without the valve it makes an even better toy"-says Oscar!




Bath time, splash time. Oscar loves the water! We're going to have to remove
Oscar's bath seat very soon because he's starting to stand up in it.
I can't believe how quickly he's growing!

Monday: Lunch: Oscar did good! He ate 6 bites of ravioli! He liked it=) He refused the mixed veggies, but he did really good! Today we read "Humpty Dumpty," and "The Very Busy Spider." We also sang "The Wheels on the Bus," and "Bingo." He played with Christalyn and Ava this afternoon. It was so cute...they were following each other around.

Tuesday: Oscar had a good day. Today we played Cars! His favorite car was the popping one. It has Elmo in it. We read "Faces"- it talks about different facial expressions. We also read the "B" Book. In this book, Elmo talks about his ball because it gets away from him.

Wednesday: Lunch: Oscar did good! He had 4 bites of Chicken and Rice, 1 bite of peas, 6 bites of applesauce. He really likes the "Yo Baby" (baby yogurt I sent to school with him).

Thursday: Oscar didn't even like those carrots today!! LOL=) But he ate his jar food just fine! Christalyn and Oscar had a lunch date!! Oscar was too busy looking at her to eat some bites. =) We took a walk outside this afternoon. We took a long walk since it was nice outside. Today we made firework noises. We did "Boom" and "Crackle." We also read: "Way to Go, Simba," and "Cars."
